Privacy policy
Cylindrica is a game, not a data business. One thing leaves your device — crash reports — and this page explains exactly what is in them.
The short version
- Crashes and hangs are sent to Sentry, our crash reporting service, so we can fix them.
- Everything else — settings, records, collected shards, daily challenges — stays on your device, and syncs through your own iCloud account if you have iCloud Drive turned on.
- There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, no tracking, and nothing is ever sold or shared with data brokers.
- We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or location.
Crash and hang reports
When the game crashes or freezes, it sends a report to Sentry so we can find the bug. A report contains:
- the crash or hang itself — the stack trace and app state at the time
- your device model and iOS version
- the app version and build number
- a random installation ID generated on your device, which lets us tell one report from another — it is not linked to you, your Apple Account or any advertising identifier, and it is replaced when you delete and reinstall the game
In App Store terms this is Diagnostics — Crash Data, not linked to your identity and not used for tracking. Sentry processes the reports on our behalf and does not use them for anything else. See Sentry’s privacy policy.
Your music
Cylindrica writes its own soundtrack with a built-in synthesizer, which needs no permission and no network. If you would rather ride to your own music, you can pick a playlist or album from your Apple Music library.
iOS asks for permission the first time you switch the music source — not at launch. The game reads your library only to show you the list and play what you choose. Nothing about your library leaves your device, and you can revoke access any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Media & Apple Music.
What stays on your device
Settings, best distances per mode, collected shards, tutorial completion, daily challenge progress and streaks are stored locally in the app’s own storage (UserDefaults). Deleting the game deletes them.
iCloud
So your profile survives a new phone, the game mirrors it to your own iCloud key-value store — the same Apple account you are already signed into. The data goes to Apple, not to us; we cannot read it. Turn it off by disabling iCloud Drive for Cylindrica in Settings › Apple Account › iCloud.
Game Center
Leaderboards and achievements run on Apple’s Game Center. If you are signed in, your distances are submitted under your Game Center nickname and handled under Apple’s privacy policy. We never see your Apple Account. If you are not signed in, the game simply keeps the scores to itself.
Live duels. When you play a live duel, your position in the tunnel, distance and speed are sent directly to your opponent’s device through Apple’s Game Center for the duration of the match, and their Game Center nickname is shown to you. Nothing is stored and nothing passes through our servers.
What Cylindrica never collects
- no advertising and no advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- no analytics or behavioural tracking
- no location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera
- no account, no sign-up, no email address
- no purchases and no payment data
Children
The game is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. Crash reports contain no personal data by design.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to export or erase on our side. If you want a crash report removed anyway, write to us with the date and device and we will delete it.
Changes
If the game starts doing something new with data, this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top. The current version is effective 31 July 2026.
